How to use Cistus × Obtusifolius 'Thrive'?
This undemanding evergreen shrub is easy to grow in Mediterranean beds, rock gardens or gravel gardens. Perfect for beds or as a tall ground cover.
Advice on growing Cistus × Obtusifolius 'Thrive' successfully?
A rockrose with a spreading habit (60 cm high by 1 m wide), it is best planted in sunny locations. It prefers well-drained soil, even if it is poor and chalky, and does not tolerate excess moisture at its roots in winter. It should be pruned back slightly after flowering, but too much pruning could compromise its health. For a good ground cover, plant around 2 plants per square metre. Hardy to -10°C, Cistus is remarkably drought-resistant.
