Characteristics of ALLIUM ramosum.
Native to the high plateaus of Central Asia, ALLIUM ramosum is widely used in Mongolian and Chinese cuisine and pharmacopoeia. This wild garlic develops a beautiful tuft of fine, lanceolate, aromatic leaves in spring. From July onwards, it flowers on high stems that extend beyond the foliage. These bear a dense umbel of white star-shaped flowers at the top. All parts of the plant can be used in cooking, the bulbs are harvested to garnish meat dishes, and the leaves and flowers are used in salads or to season stews.
