IRIS japonica is a variety that originates from the forests and marshes of China and Japan. A rhizomatous strain, it develops into a vigorous clump of beautiful shiny green, lanceolate and evergreen foliage. The flowering develops at the end of long panicles composed of several bracts. The flower is very delicate, the petals are slightly fringed, white with yellow and blue spots in the centre. The Iris japonica flowers abundantly throughout the spring. The iris japonica likes humid and shady areas with humus soils.
