With its branched, creeping stems, this variety of perennial purslane roots easily. It grows to a diameter of 20 to 25 cm and a height of 10 to 15 cm. From late spring, it is covered with small flower heads with fine, bright purple ligules, resembling small daisies, completely hiding its fine, cylindrical, medium-green leaves. Flowering starts in May and lasts until October or November, depending on the region.

Characteristics of DELOSPERMA Suntropics ® Purple.
This perennial purslane has a spreading, creeping habit that makes it an excellent ground cover. From May to October-November, it produces a bright purple cushion with yellow/white highlights.
How do I use DELOSPERMA Suntropics ® Purple?
This perennial purslane is highly resistant to drought and sea spray, and is hardy to -5°C. It flourishes easily in large pots on a balcony or terrace, but in winter it needs to be protected indoors, in a conservatory or greenhouse, to preserve its health. In warmer regions, it can be planted on a slope, a rockery or at the top of a low wall.
What advice do you have for growing DELOSPERMA Suntropics ® Purple successfully?
This perennial purslane is very adaptable: it will do well in dry, stony soil, provided it is light and well-drained. However, it is crucial to avoid excess moisture in winter, as this could prove fatal.
