The characteristics of ILEX paraguariensis Garden2Cup ®
Imagined by Pépinières LAFORET, the ILEX paraguariensis Garden2Cup ® is a small tree with a bushy habit that can reach 1.50 m in height and 0.60 cm to 1 m wide. It is grown mainly for its oval leaves which, once roasted and infused, will produce the famous Mate: a caffeinated drink with famous benefits: antioxidant, long-lasting energizer, slimming ally and rich in nutrients to boost the immune system.
ILEX paraguariensis Garden2Cup ® offers discreet clusters of white flowers during fall and winter to evolve into dark red berries between January and March.
How to use it ?
Thanks to its shrubby habit, theILEX paraguariensis Garden2Cup ® is ideal for cultivation in the ground or in pots. Its foliage can be harvested 2 to 3 times a year for the preparation of the famous Mate!
What conditions for successful cultivation of ILEX paraguariensis Garden2Cup ® ?
When planting, it is best to offer ILEX paraguariensis Garden2Cup ® an exposure in the shade or partial shade and sheltered from prevailing winds. Rich, well-drained soil (watch out for excess water) and a humid atmosphere (between 20 and 23°C) are recommended. It requires little or no treatment and can be pruned twice a year.
