Native to Australia in the Tasman region, Dicksonia antarctica is the most commonly grown tree fern in Europe due to its resistance to cold. The foliage appears in spring at the top of the trunk, spreading out from the centre to open into large, soft green fronds, giving a tropical and exotic feel.
