A striking and very graphic Bromeliad variety. DYCKIA Brittle Star grows in small rosettes forming a star of long purple to black leaves edged with small silver teeth. The flowers appear in summer and rise on a large flowering spike bearing small orange tubular flowers.

Characteristics of the DYCKIA Brittle Star.


Native to South America, this Bromeliad will be a sensation in dry gardens. DYCKIA Brittle Star is characterised by its rosette of thin, rigid leaves with original colours. The young leaves appear brown to black depending on exposure with a grey reverse. With time they become less intense and take on shades of greyish green to completely grey. The leaves are edged with small silver teeth which create a strong contrast and bring a lot of graphism to this original perennial. The flowers appear in summer, the flowering stems rise to an average of 1m high and offer small, delicate orange tubular flowers.
